Since all of the D’s happen to miss this year’s amazing Kagie wine party due to family schedules or vacations, we decided to recreate the magic in Double D’s style!
For this month, we each selected a dish to prepare ourselves and the challenge rested with Fred and Pat to pair each dish with a wine.This turned out to be such a fun event and it was enjoyable to change it up a little bit and put on our cooking hats, not just the eating hats. The menu was mouth-watering, tempting us for a month leading up to the day, while Fred and Pat went above and beyond as our hosts and even created a custom menu for the D’s while conjuring up some fantastic wine pairings.
We wrapped up our superb dinner with a little impromptu guitar session from Fred which was accompanied by a hysterical attempt by others to remember song lyrics after plenty of wine. This dinner was a nice change of pace for us and we agreed that we must do it again sometime, much to the “balanced” dismay of Jen.
